Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

At one point on the previous day, more than twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were without power.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
